Hey, I am back @bahelvedant and I am back with another blog “6 Things that an Engineering Student can do to improve his/her profile”. Well, summers are going on and all the engineering students across the country getting done with there exams. So, If you are planning to do something productive this summer, the following list may help you out with the options:
- Doing an Online Course: This is the era where everything is getting online and you can even learn online. The best part is that you can select what you want to learn and drop out when you feel bored. Following are some of the websites that can provide online courses in the field of Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Web Development, Programming Languages and any other subject of your choice:
- Coursera: Coursera is an e-learning platform and one of my personal favourite. It not only provides courses in technology but also in Art and Humanities, Mathematics, Health, Personal Development, Social Science, etc.
These courses are provided famous Universities like Stanford, Harvard, etc and some of the famous companies like Cisco, Google, etc. Moreover, you get certified after completing each course. However, the certificates are pretty costly but there is a way you can get it for free. If you have issues paying for the certificates, you can go for a scholarship. It has courses from various universities and companies like Microsoft, etc. Scholarship facility is available on edX as well but it doesn’t give 100% fee waiver. - DataCamp: DataCamp is another website for online learning, which is great with programming point of view. They have a marvellous course interface and real-time programming. The courses are small enough (4-5 Hours). DataCamp is quite costly but it provides free access when a College Professor creates a class. - Taking up some Project: Another thing that an engineering student can do this summer is to take up some project. Based upon your field of study and your interest you may take any project and start working for it. If you are aiming to MS, then project plays an important role. - Taking up some Internship: Doing an internship has many benefits:- Your get Experience, You get to learn new things, You get to increase your network, Chances of getting a job in future increase and many. - Write a Research Paper: Well, Research Paper can boost your profile. And they are really important for getting accepted for higher education at some good university. There are many different types of Research Paper. Initially, one can start with A Review paper and get it published at some National Journal.
